Los atletas que aman este deporte, pero también lo practican para perder peso y sentirse mejor por fuera y por dentro, ciertamente han oído hablar de mil y una maneras de perder peso. Por ejemplo, comer según los ritmos circadianos, ¿en qué consiste? ¿Funciona? Veamos más abajo.

Qué son los ritmos circadianos

Esto puede ser un poco difícil de entender y también de explicar. Así que vamos a tratar de hacerlo lo más simple posible para usted y para nosotros. Usted ya sabe que nuestro cuerpo funciona de manera diferente durante los momentos del día y de la noche. Por un lado, hay animales que viven de noche, ya somos seres diurnos.

¿Qué queremos decir con eso? Durante el día, todas las funciones de nuestro cuerpo, incluido el metabolismo, funcionan al máximo, mientras que por la noche están casi completamente paralizadas.

Bueno, ese es el primer paso que necesitamos entender. La segunda es esa luz solar que entra a través de nuestra retina y envía señales a nuestro reloj biológico que existe en nuestro organismo, que es el hipotálamo, que tiene una enorme influencia en la velocidad o lentitud del metabolismo.

Se encarga de absorber esta luz y generar adrenalina durante el día para hacer que la melanina y la serotonina funcionen por la noche , para que podamos descansar. ¿Cómo funciona nuestro metabolismo, entonces, durante estos ciclos?

¿Funciona la alimentación según los ritmos circadianos?

Bueno, si queremos perder peso, todos sabemos que el secreto es seguir una dieta baja en calorías, beber agua y hacer ejercicio.

Ahora, si las calorías en nuestra dieta son tan bajas que no le damos a nuestro cuerpo las necesarias para llevar a cabo sus funciones, el cuerpo acumulará estos déficits que nos harán tener un hambre voraz en las últimas horas de la noche.

Nuestra dieta baja en calorías puede estar relacionada con el tipo de trabajo que hacemos, así como con las calorías que quemamos en el ejercicio que hacemos diariamente.

Si durante el día, que es cuando necesitamos que nuestro cuerpo transforme lo que comemos en energía, no le damos lo suficiente, por la noche tendremos que comer mucho para suplir eso, justo cuando nuestro metabolismo se va a dormir.

Esto indudablemente resultará en un aumento de peso si se hace algo a largo plazo. Puede suceder que durante la noche nuestro cuerpo nos pida que consumamos ansiosamente carbohidratos y azúcares. Esto se debe a que no habremos consumido lo suficiente durante el día.

Los carbohidratos y azúcares pueden consumirse en el desayuno sin miedo a engordar , porque el cuerpo transformará los alimentos en energía que se gastará a lo largo del día.

El problema ocurre si lo hacemos de noche, cuando no tendremos más movimiento. El cuerpo convertirá este alimento en grasa que se acumula en las regiones más problemáticas.

No estamos diciendo que consumir carbohidratos por la noche o azúcares cuando sales con tus amigos te hará engordar como una foca, pero queremos decir que no debería ser un hábito.

Entonces, ¿funciona si se alimenta según los ritmos circadianos? Sí, lo hace, y le diremos el secreto para conseguirlo.

¿Cuál es el secreto para alimentarse según los ritmos circadianos?

¿Has oído alguna vez la frase «desayuna como un rey, almuerza como un príncipe y cena como un mendigo» ? Bueno, este dicho es básicamente el secreto de comer según los ritmos circadianos.

Aunque suene como un simple dicho, tiene una base científica . En las primeras horas del día nuestro nivel de insulina se dispara. Así, el cuerpo tiene una mayor capacidad para digerir los carbohidratos y azúcares que comemos, pero si los consumimos tarde en la noche, este nivel se reduce y el cuerpo no puede hacer otra cosa que acumularlos en forma de grasa.

Por eso es menos recomendable comer carbohidratos o azúcares por la noche, porque el organismo no está preparado para procesarlos. Por lo tanto, es cierto que comer según los ritmos circadianos es una opción ideal para perder peso, siempre y cuando se sepa cuál es la tabla nutricional adecuada.

Recuerde, aunque consumirá menos calorías de las que debería, éstas deberían formar una dieta equilibrada con todos los nutrientes necesarios. No tiene sentido comer 1,000 calorías si sólo provienen de carbohidratos o azúcares procesados.

Sin embargo, si sigue una dieta equilibrada baja en calorías, en la que desayuna bien, come normalmente y come principalmente proteínas y verduras, perderá peso de forma segura y, lo mejor de todo, podrá mantener los resultados durante mucho tiempo.
