Una cosa es cierta: cuanto más sabes cómo funciona tu cuerpo, más oportunidades tienes de mejorar tu rendimiento. Así que, en este post, explicamos cómo la propiocepción y el rendimiento son palabras que van de la mano.

Propiocepción

Piense en algún momento cuando tuvo que caminar por un lugar donde hay muchos charcos de agua. El objetivo es caminar y evitar pisar algunos, su cuerpo utiliza la concentración y el equilibrio de los músculos.

En tu mente, no pisar los charcos es predominante, pero además tu cuerpo reacciona a la situación y hace los ajustes necesarios para resolver este problema.

La propiocepción nació bajo el término «sentido de la locomoción», estudiado en 1557 por Julio César Scaliger. Con el paso del tiempo, los estudios de psicólogos, neurólogos y cirujanos avanzaron.

A este tipo de percepción también se le llamó «sentido muscular», pero no fue hasta 1906 que aceptaron el término propiocepción a través de la investigación de Charles Bell.

Los componentes de la propiocepción en los seres humanos se encuentran en diferentes partes del cuerpo, que en última instancia trabajan juntos.

Estos componentes son todos los receptores que ya conocemos como los sentidos (visión, olfato, gusto, tacto y oído), más el sistema nervioso central, que elabora una respuesta a la situación a la que está expuesto el cuerpo.

A veces hay personas que se llaman a sí mismas «torpes», ya sea porque a menudo se caen o porque tienen dificultades para realizar tareas sencillas, como mover objetos, entre otras. Ser «torpe» no es más que una propiocepción no desarrollada, y esto implica un pequeño déficit a nivel motor.

Propiedad y rendimiento

Por lo tanto, la propiocepción influye en nuestro rendimiento deportivo. Por supuesto, las personas que tienen este «sexto sentido» muy agudo son más sensibles y capaces de realizar ciertos ejercicios.

De hecho, la propiocepción está presente en cualquier área de nuestra vida cotidiana. En el campo deportivo, se centra más en ejercicios que implican equilibrio o coordinación. Sin embargo, es necesario para suministrar cualquier tipo de proceso deportivo .

Desarrolla su sexto sentido

Como la propiocepción es un sexto sentido que conecta todo el cuerpo, la mejor manera de mejorarlo es a través del movimiento.

Esto significa que a través del deporte podemos hacer ejercicios enfocados en esto, en su mayoría con el uso de pilates o pelota de bosu. Como son superficies inestables, obligan al cuerpo a desarrollar mejor el sentido interno.

Estos ejercicios incluyen lo siguiente:

  • Tablero con flexión en la bola de pilates: en lugar de hacer tablero con flexión en el suelo, ahora se acuesta sobre una bola de pilates. Esto te obligará a usar tu propio diseño para hacer el ejercicio por la inestabilidad de la bola de pilates.
  • Agáchate en el bosu: una vez más, la inestabilidad de la superficie pondrá en práctica su sexto sentido para realizar la agachada.
  • Pasos de baile: aprender pasos de baile es uno de los ejercicios más efectivos, ya que pone a prueba tu coordinación, equilibrio y, además, te obliga a seguir el ritmo de la música.

¿Por qué es importante?

La propiocepción y el rendimiento van de la mano, ya que una buena propiocepción asegura un buen rendimiento, tanto deportivo como en cualquier otra situación en la que te involucres. Además, desarrollar este sentido es como aprender cualquier disciplina, la práctica nos hace mejorar cada vez más.

Un ejemplo de cómo funciona la propiocepción en nuestro cuerpo y por qué es importante es que una persona camine en la oscuridad.

Cuando uno está en completa oscuridad, uno no tiene un conocimiento del medio ambiente, por lo tanto, uno debe emplear la conciencia del estado interno del cuerpo. Y así caminar sin problemas, incluso si está oscuro.

La propiocepción es absolutamente necesaria para el desempeño de las diferentes tareas de la vida diaria. Así que, si crees que eres torpe, no tienes un problema, pero si quieres corregirlo, ¡ya sabes por dónde empezar!
